Rafael feels a passion for dance that he has carefully crafted over the past 18 years. In that time he has competed professionally in rhythm and smooth and won various competitions multiple times in both categories. He has also had opportunities to teach professionally in Guatemala, Denmark, and across the U.S.

Additionally trained in yoga and other fitness based classes, she is sure to get you moving right away, no matter your level. From wedding choreography and ballroom competitions to the most popular social dances, she loves it all! When not in the studio, she is working with her fire dancing troupe or enjoying a nice quiet evening with her cat, Charlie. Whether you want a high energy, fast paced lesson or just a way to unwind after work, or even a romantic date night with your partner, she’ll adjust each lesson to meet your goals. Even if you are brand new to dance, she’ll get you comfortable right away.

SAM L.

Now back in California, Sam is excited to share her extensive knowledge and love of teaching with all the students at Slow Fox.

She is eager to help you on your own dance journey!

KELLY K.
Instructor
Hailing from western Canada, Kelly started dancing at 6. Her mom insisted she start with ballet, but she quickly rebelled into tap, jazz, modern, and West African, dancing her way into multiple scholarships and awards.
She started mentoring dancers at 12 and professionally teaching at 19. Between master classes, competitions, performances, she built a successful touring burlesque troupe who performed at corporate events. As a dancer, Kelly continued to train across North America, from Vancouver to Ottawa, NYC to California.
In 2013, she moved to New York City and received a minor in Dance and Performance from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a focus on dance culture and history. Honing her passion, she’s choreographed movement for photoshoots, runway shows, workshops, master classes, and professional dance teams. One of her life goals is to be proficient in every dance style in the world.
